General Info

Once a week the hotel has a survey, this is handed out at dinner and you will be asked to fill out a small survey which is mainly focused around the services that the hotel provides, house cleaning, entertainment staff, reception etc, although we felt that hotel was lacking in certain areas this was not the fault of the staff so we did not leave them negative comments, these surveys are very important to them and I can only guess to many negative comments will result in them losing their jobs. There is a section where you can write where you think the hotel may be lacking so put your comments here if you have any, but I will be surprised if you have any major issues with the staff as we always found them to be really nice.

On arrival you will be given your wristband, which is specifically for that hotel, I did hear though that the Iberostar Varadero has the same bands so if you wanted to take a walk down the beach and have a look around you can, but you are not allowed to use their facilities.

There is a dress code for evening meals, men are requested to wear long trousers and tops, but to be honest while we were there I saw loads of fellas in shorts in the dining hall and nothing was said, but on the occasions when we went to the specialty restaurants all the men had long trousers on.

This may sound crazy but take an umbrella with you, it's the last thing you would think of packing but if like me you stay in one of the bungalows near the end of the complex you are a good 5 minute walk from the main restaurant and when it rains out there its not a light shower, it pours down.

If your sitting around and one of the staff members comes to have a chat with you, offer them a drink, what is so easy to forget is that the drinks are free for us but not for them, if your getting a drink just ask them if they would like one to, my boyfriend even got the gardener and maid a drink of coke each. They aren't really supposed to have them so just make sure the boss doesn't catch them.

Towels cards are provided at check in at can be exchanged at the club house once a day, you will be charged a fine if you lose your towel card when checking out.

If you are venturing outside of the hotel, take a pack of tissues with you.
